As part of our commitment to the next generation of plumbing professionals, we operate a group training organisation that employs apprentices and places them with leading plumbing businesses for hands-on training. The Role As a result of continued organisational growth, we are seeking an Apprenticeships Field Officer who is passionate about shaping the next generation of plumbing professionals. In this pivotal role, you will support aspiring apprentices as they enter the industry, guiding them through their training journey while working closely with host employers and key industry partners to ensure successful outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with internal teams to foster a supportive and productive work environment. Building strong relationships with stakeholders to drive new apprenticeship opportunities and increase commencements. Partnering with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and host employers to promote and expand apprenticeship pathways. Recruiting and matching suitable apprentice plumbers with appropriate host employers. Providing ongoing guidance, mentorship, and support to apprentices throughout their training. Promoting safe work practices and providing advice on risk management and compliance. Monitoring and supporting the progress of apprentices to ensure successful completion of training requirements. Representing the organisation at career expos and industry events to promote the industry and attract future talent to the plumbing trade. What We’re Looking For We are seeking an experienced and motivated trades professional with a minimum of five years’ post-apprenticeship experience, ideally with a background in a Group Training Organisation (GTO), Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or apprenticeship mentoring role. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices within the plumbing or broader construction industry. Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail. Experience in business development, mentoring, stakeholder engagement, or relationship management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build strong working relationships across diverse groups. A genuine commitment to supporting apprentices and host employers to achieve positive outcomes. An approachable and empathetic manner, with practical problem-solving skills to manage day-to-day challenges. The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and achieve key performance targets (KPIs). Mandatory Requirements Trade qualifications (plumbing preferred but not essential). Minimum five years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson. Experience working with a GTO, RTO, or in a mentoring role supporting apprentices or trainees. Current Working with Children Check. National Police Check. Current South Australian driver’s licence.
