Levett Engineering are a high-performance precision machining business supplying complex components and assemblies into aerospace and defence programs. This is not a clerical scheduling role—this is about owning flow across a multi-machine CNC environment and delivering on time, every time. You’ll take control of production planning and scheduling across turning, milling, and finishing work centres in a high-mix, low-volume environment. You’ll balance capacity, manage constraints, and ensure jobs move through the factory efficiently and predictably. What you’ll be responsible for: Creating and maintaining a finite production schedule across multiple CNC work centres Managing capacity vs demand , identifying bottlenecks, and driving solutions Releasing and prioritising work to maintain on-time delivery (OTD) Working closely with projects, operations, quality, and leadership to align production with customer commitments Monitoring WIP and adjusting schedules in real time based on constraints Driving continuous improvement in planning accuracy, lead times, and flow What we’re looking for: Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within precision machining or manufacturing Strong understanding of CNC environments, routing, setup times, and capacity constraints Experience with ERP/MRP systems (APS experience highly regarded) Ability to make decisions under pressure and own delivery outcomes Commercial awareness—understanding the impact of planning decisions on cost and performance Aerospace, defence, or AS9100 experience is highly regarded What we’re looking for: Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within precision machining or manufacturing Strong understanding of CNC environments, routing, setup times, and capacity constraints Experience with ERP/MRP systems (APS experience highly regarded) Ability to make decisions under pressure and own delivery outcomes Commercial awareness—understanding the impact of planning decisions on cost and performance Aerospace, defence, or AS9100 experience is highly regarded What sets this role apart: You’ll have real ownership , not just data entry Direct impact on delivery performance and customer satisfaction Work in a technically advanced, high-spec manufacturing environment Opportunity to shape and improve how planning is done This role is not for you if: You’re looking for a purely administrative scheduling role You’re not comfortable making decisions and being accountable for outcomes Additional Requirements: Due to the nature of our work and the requirements of our customers, all applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and need to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance as part of employment eligibility.
