Our menu caters to a variety of dietary preferences including meat, vegan, and plant-based options. We also prioritise sustainability — reducing plastic use, recycling, composting, and supporting ethical produce wherever possible. We create food that nourishes both body and planet and deliver an inviting dining experience for our guests in- houses or takeaway. Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will work collaboratively within a dynamic café environment and contribute to delivering high-quality meals that reflect our passion for wholesome, seasonal cuisine. Key Responsibilities As a Cook at Local Press Café, you will: ? Prepare and cook menu items efficiently and consistently to the café’s standards. ? Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards. ? Ensure food quality, freshness, and safety at all stages of preparation. ? Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety regulations. ? Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and kitchen organisation. ? Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service. ? Support menu innovation and seasonal food preparation. ? Assist with daily kitchen setup and closing procedures. Selection Criteria Applicants should demonstrate: ? Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience in a professional kitchen or café environment. ?
