We operate seven days a week from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, providing consistent lunch and dinner service in a fast-paced environment. Due to sustained growth in customer demand, increased dine-in and takeaway service requirements, and ongoing expansion of menu offerings, we are seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and support daily kitchen operations. The successful applicant will report directly to the Restaurant Owner/Manager. Key Responsibilities / Duties Designing, planning, and updating menus featuring Italian dishes, pasta meals, burgers, seafood, and specialty items, including costing and budgeting for food and kitchen supplies. Planning, ordering, and managing the procurement of ingredients, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely stock availability for kitchen operations. Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes including pasta, seafood, chicken, burgers, and sides in line with restaurant recipes and standards. Supervising food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to ensure consistent quality and high standards. Coordinating kitchen workflow during service periods, including station management and ensuring smooth and timely meal delivery. Monitoring portion control, food quality, and waste minimisation throughout service. Liaising with restaurant management, kitchen staff, and front-of-house staff regarding daily service requirements, customer feedback, and special requests. Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance to kitchen staff to maintain consistency, efficiency, and service quality. Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP principles, and workplace health and safety regulations. Managing storage, rotation, and preservation of food products to maintain freshness and reduce wastage. Supporting recruitment, training, and supervision of kitchen staff as required. Overseeing and coordinating daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. Skills & Qualifications Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (mandatory). Minimum 1 year full-time or part-time equivalent experience in a commercial kitchen in a Chef role. Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and modern restaurant operations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP principles, and WHS compliance. Ability to supervise staff and maintain consistent service quality.
