The Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and client focused Physiotherapy Assistant to join their Physiotherapy Department. PLEASE NOTE: There is 1 x permanent full-time and 2 x temporary full-time roles - 30/06/2027, with a possible 12 months extension. About the opportunity The Physiotherapy Assistant contributes to patient care by providing clinical support tasks delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of a Physiotherapist within a 7-day service. PLEASE NOTE - These roles will be required to work a roster that includes weekend work. Role requirements While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance would be well regarded. This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty. This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis. The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Clinical Ability: Under supervision, demonstrated ability to provide a defined range of patient interventions as delegated by the Physiotherapist. Ability to work under direction and within the limitations of a defined role in patient care. Ability to effectively use computers and general office equipment and to quickly acquire ability to use new information and data systems. Ability to learn and commitment to train in specific handling and technical skills and competencies relevant to the position. Team Participation/ Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team with a good understanding of own scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment. Demonstrated skills in self-organisation and initiative to enable the timely completion of a variety of tasks allowing efficient service function.
