Luma is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of Western Australian women since 1977, delivering integrated medical, allied health, mental health, FDV advocacy, health promotion and education across the Perth metropolitan area. Luma is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and values-driven Team Leader to provide day-to-day leadership and practice support to our Family & Domestic Violence Services team. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed services that are client-centred, culturally responsive, and aligned with best practice. In addition to leading and supporting the team, you will maintain a small caseload and provide direct advocacy and support to women and their families. This role is fixed-term for 2 years with the possibility of permanent extension. The successful applicant will be required to complete psychometric testing as part of the recruitment process. Key responsibilities include: Clinical Practice & Case Management: Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed FDV advocacy through centre-based case management, including comprehensive assessment, safety planning, and goal setting. Risk & Safety Leadership: Undertake complex risk and needs assessments and support team members to apply consistent, best-practice approaches to risk assessment and safety planning. Practice Support & Mentoring: Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and secondary consultation to team members, supporting high-quality, consistent practice across advocacy, triage, and intake functions. Client Engagement: Support team members in applying client-centred, empowerment-based approaches, including responding effectively to disengagement or complex client presentations. Complex Case Support: Provide expert guidance on high-risk and complex cases, including support with triage decisions, urgent matters, and service allocation. Team Leadership & Operations: Provide day-to-day operational leadership, supporting workload coordination, case complexity, and team functioning, while fostering a positive and psychologically safe team culture. About you: Successful completion of tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in counselling, psychology, social work, cultural studies, family studies, or related fields. Demonstrated experience delivering FDV case management and advocacy to women, children, and families with complex needs. Proven ability to provide leadership, mentoring, and practice support within a multidisciplinary team. Strong knowledge and application of case management frameworks, including assessment, formulation, and trauma-informed care. Comprehensive understanding of FDV risk assessment frameworks and safety planning. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including case notes, reports, and stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive practice and working with diverse communities. Well-developed organisational and computer skills, including experience with practice management systems. Understanding of Family and Domestic Violence and related community resources including knowledge of services available in the community with a demonstrated ability to support clients to access services, groups, information, and other supports to strengthen and support their journey.
