About the program: AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace. Your responsibilities will include: About the role: We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer (E3 Specialist) to join the AIR6500 Specialty Engineering Team, supporting one of Australia’s most significant integrated air and missile defence programs. In this senior technical leadership as a Senior RF Engineer – E3 Specialist, you will be the sole authority on all electromagnetic matters for the project and will ensure that every component, subsystem and installation meets the highest EMC/EMI, EMSEC, RADHAZ and co‑site interference standards from inception to acceptance. You will work closely with engineering teams, program leadership, Defence stakeholders and external partners to deliver safe, secure and compliant capability. Key responsibilities Whole‑system E3 Leadership - Own EMC/EMI, EMSEC, RADHAZ and Co‑site engineering across design, analysis, test and acceptance. Define and deliver the end‑to‑end electromagnetic integrity strategy. Plan & Artefact Governance - Draft, review and sign‑off E3 plans, CDRLs, technical specifications and E3 test methods for the entire program. Design & Change Management - Provide expert input in early design reviews, change control, risk assessments and cost–benefit analyses for all RF‑related issues. Impact Assessment & Issue Resolution - Lead E3 impact investigations, produce mitigation plans, drive corrective actions and persuade stakeholders on trade‑offs. Integration & Acceptance Oversight - Direct test campaigns, manage test matrixes, verify acceptance criteria, and certify that hardware meets or exceeds all EMI/EMC requirements. Stakeholder Collaboration - Work hand‑in‑hand with AIR6500 system engineering, hardware engineering & procurement along with industry partners and regulatory bodies to deliver compliant outcomes. About you: You are a highly experienced E3 specialist who knows what good looks like in complex Defence programs, with the credibility to lead technical decisions, guide teams and influence senior stakeholders.
