Junior UX Analyst (NT Gov) Work location - Darwin, 6-month contract Scope of Works: The UX Analyst supports the design and delivery of user centred digital products and services across DPS projects. Working under the guidance of senior UX practitioners, the role contributes to user research, analysis, and design activities within multidisciplinary teams. The role focuses on understanding user needs, conducting and analysing research findings, and translating insights into clear, practical UX artefacts that inform decision-making for digital products or services. The UX Analyst supports evidence based design outcomes ensuring solutions align with accessibility, privacy, and relevant government and international standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Support and conduct user research activities: interviews, observations, workshops, surveys, and usability testing. Assist with planning research approaches appropriate to project scope, constraints, and user groups. Analyse research findings to identify context constraints, user needs, pain points, risks, and opportunities. Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights and evidence based recommendations. Create and maintain UX artefacts: personas, user journey maps, research summaries/checklists, research reports andsupporting documentation. Contribute to projects life cycle activities as part of multidisciplinary teams: work closely with business analysts,developers, testers, change practitioners and other team members and stakeholders. Support the development, review, and refinement of wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts under guidance, usingresearch findings and usability evidence. Assist with usability and accessibility testing activities and contribute to documenting outcomes and recommendations. Incorporate feedback from senior UX practitioners and stakeholders to iterate UX outputs. Support stakeholder engagement activities by clearly communicating key information. Maintain accurate, well-structured documentation in alignment with DPS frameworks and quality expectations. Essential Skills and Experience Experience and skills working in digital projects or services. Demonstrated experience in information architecture design and content design. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and synthesize findings into clear insights, documenting findings anddecisions for traceability. Strengths in problem solving, communication and coordination. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain insights to technical and non-technicalaudiences. Strong critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and evidence based reasoning. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute positively to sharedoutcomes. High level of interpersonal and organizational skills including ability to manage tasks, documentation, and competingpriorities within deadlines. Proven stakeholder engagement, customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively withpeople of diverse cultures. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience working in a Government or complex service delivery environment Capability across UX prototyping (Figma or similar) and supporting usability testing to improve customer experience. Understanding of accessibility, usability, and inclusive design, including awareness of WCAG requirements. Knowledge of digital project and collaboration tools such as Jira/Confluence/SharePoint and an active interest in AI andemerging technologies.
