SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA About the role Working within NITV’s Indigenous News and Current Affairs (INACA) team, the Cross Platform Journalist/Producer will produce original and engaging cross platform content for NITV’s daily television and digital news platforms. This role will see you; Plan, research, write, edit and produce high quality news, interviews and feature stories across linear and digital platforms. Generate, develop and pitch ideas for original content, which centre and elevate First Nations voices and perspectives. Build and maintain strong networks within Indigenous communities and organisations across the country This is a full-time, temporary 12-month parental leave contract role. This position can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin, or Perth. About you We are looking for a creative storyteller, with strong research skills, who is passionate about elevating and amplifying the voices of First Nations people and communities. You will have advanced communication skills and proven experience in journalism and/or media broadcasting, including the production and presentation of original, multi-platform news and current affairs content (television, online and social media). An understanding of, or experience in, camera, sound and editing systems is also highly valued. You’ll have a deep understanding of Indigenous Cultural Protocol and the ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Working as part of a small team, you’ll have a positive, and solutions orientated attitude with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict broadcast deadlines. Reporting on Indigenous issues across Australia, you’ll be willing to travel for breaking news coverage and significant events. This is a great opportunity for an Indigenous journalist or producer with a couple of years of newsroom experience under their belt to take the next step in their media career!
