THE ROLE The Senior Investigations Officer leads investigations of service providers who have compliance obligations with a broad range of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for: Managing multiple and complex investigations and the preparation of briefs of evidence, reports to senior management and advice on regulatory compliance matters Utilising a risk-based approach to investigatory activities including consideration of relevant SSR regulatory, compliance and enforcement policies and procedures Assisting in providing sound strategic advice and recommendations on investigative and enforcement issues Assisting in building investigative capacity across the broader team. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Day-to-day your responsibilities will include: Lead complex, sensitive investigations of regulated entities (both proactive and responsive), negotiate resolution and – where necessary – prepare and present evidence to inform relevant enforcement actions. Prepare and present complex briefs of evidence resultant from breaches of legislation and act as informant in bringing proceedings against organisations who have breached their legislative obligations. * With minimal supervision, conduct investigative activity including taking statements, interviewing witnesses, records of interview in accordance with relevant standards, policies and procedures.
