The Opportunity Embrace a senior role that will define how assurance and performance standards are delivered across the system. As the Assurance Officer, you will lead assurance activities, analyse system wide risks, and deliver authoritative advice that drives continuous improvement. You will identify priority reforms, support the implementation of recommendations, and manage compliance requirements from external oversight bodies. Your work will inform executive decision making through concise, high impact assurance reporting to governance groups and committees. About you You deliver customer focused, strategically aligned services and confidently manage sensitive or complex stakeholder matters. You act with urgency, take responsibility, and drive change, risk, and improvement initiatives. Operating under broad direction, you deliver significant work programs supported by clear, concise communication. You rapidly analyse issues, offer practical, expert solutions, and apply strong discipline knowledge while communicating professionally, negotiating effectively, and resolving conflict to achieve positive outcomes. Educational Qualifications / Licences Building, construction, project management or trade related qualification or commensurate experience within Facilities Management service environment will be highly regarded. Special Conditions This role is classified as a position of trust and will be subjected to a satisfactory criminal history record check in line with departmental policies and procedures. A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years. A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry. Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required. Tenure of Vacancy Temporary Appointment up to three (3) Years. RemunerationASO7 $112,163 to $121,246 pa superannuation.
