About EdgeTech Manufacturing EdgeTech Manufacturing is a precision CNC machining, fabrication and industrial painting business producing high-quality engineered components for clients across the mining, construction and industrial sectors. Edge-Tech shares a workshop and team with an associated business, Agmaster, which is a long-standing agricultural manufacturer specialising in broadacre seeding equipment that is distributed nationally. Based in Welshpool, we operate modern equipment — including Okuma CNC turning centres and a 6,500mm plasma cutting bed with 5-tonne overhead cranes — and deliver everything from full end-to-end manufacturing to standalone machining, fabrication or surface finishing. We are actively growing our client base and investing in the future of WA precision manufacturing. This is a real opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its development and to grow with it. The Role We are looking for a technically minded Project Manager to join the EdgeTech team. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands precision manufacturing — you will be the bridge between the client's drawings and our workshop floor. You will assess incoming jobs for technical feasibility and capability fit, oversee production scheduling and workflow, liaise with clients and the internal team to ensure jobs are delivered on time and to specification. Estimating support is part of the role, and we are open to outsourcing detailed cost estimates where required — what matters most is that you can read a drawing, understand what it takes to make the part, and manage the process from enquiry through to delivery. For the right person, this role has a clear path toward becoming the operational lead for EdgeTech as the business continues to grow. Technical Assessment & Estimating • Review client drawings, specifications and project requirements to assess technical feasibility and capability fit • Determine whether jobs can be completed on EdgeTech's equipment and within our skill set • Prepare or coordinate quotations — working with our estimating support where detailed cost builds are required • Liaise with clients to clarify scope, tolerances, materials and delivery requirements • Develop and maintain a working understanding of EdgeTech's cost structure and pricing approach Workshop & Project Oversight • Oversee jobs from acceptance through to delivery — scheduling, sequencing and tracking progress on the workshop floor • Coordinate production scheduling with the Production Manager to ensure resources are used efficiently • Liaise with clients on job status, scope changes, delivery timelines and any technical queries • Monitor job progress against schedule and budget — identify and resolve issues before they become problems • Ensure quality, safety and regulatory standards and the associated documentation are maintained on every job • Provide regular reporting on job status, pipeline and capacity to management About You • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, engineering or workshop environment — you understand how things are made, not just how they are managed • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand CNC machining, fabrication and surface finishing processes • Proven ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously and keep things moving in a fast-paced workshop environment • Solutions-focused — when something goes wrong on a job, your instinct is to find a fix, not escalate • Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to quality • A clear communicator who can deal confidently with clients, suppliers and workshop staff • Comfortable working in a small, growing team where everyone rolls up their sleeves • Strong commercial awareness — you understand the relationship between time, materials and margin Qualifications & Skills • Previous experience in manufacturing project management and/or technical estimating is essential — formal qualifications are not required, but a relevant trade or engineering background is highly regarded • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel — experience with job management or estimating software is a plus but not essential • Understanding of job costing, supplier pricing and procurement in a manufacturing context • Current driver's licence — this role may involve occasional client site visits • Australian permanent residency or citizenship required for this position What We Offer • A well-equipped, modern workshop with genuine variety in the work — no two jobs are the same • A growing client base across mining, construction and industrial sectors in WA • A collaborative and supportive team environment • Real scope to grow into a senior operational leadership role as EdgeTech scales • Remuneration commensurate with experience Location & Hours Based at our Welshpool workshop — 10 Fargo Way, Welshpool WA 6106. Full-time.
