Casual Opportunity Available in Narrabri Assist the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility in the collection of research data using agricultural sensors and phenomics methods across a range of projects HE04 $56.85 p/hour superannuation About the opportunity The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility located in Narrabri, NSW is looking for a Research Assistant on a Casual Basis. This role is responsible for assisting in manual field tasks such as taking measurements in APPN supported crop field trials using various equipment and supporting in situ equipment operations. They will support and maintain research data integrity, and ensure efficient communication with other APPN staff. They will also contribute to data entry, and maintaining organised data records. Your key responsibilities will be to: manual field tasks such as taking measurements in APPN supported crop field trials with handheld instruments, supporting installation and dismantling of in situ field instruments such as weather stations and soil moisture probes. assist with the coordination and execution of routine APPN node tasks under direction. support APPN node staff by gathering necessary data and documentation. ensure adherence to research protocols and assist with sourcing information to assist research work. support data collection activities, ensuring accuracy in data entry and its storage for further analysis. maintain basic research records in-line with scientific best practice. actively participate in team-based risk assessments, ensure consistent application of safety measures in designated tasks, and liaise with colleagues to address and resolve any minor safety concerns. About you Prior experience within a similar field will be advantageous Has excellent attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written An RePL, remote pilot license will be advantageous but not required Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
