The Role The primary function of this role is to ensure semi-trailers are manufactured in accordance with company specifications, job sheets, engineering drawings, ADR requirements, and customer expectations. The QA Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections at both frame stage and final inspection stages, ensuring all production and compliance requirements have been met prior to trailer release. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Inspection Conduct inspections at both frame stage and final inspection stages, ensuring all production and compliance requirements have been met prior to trailer release. Verify all documentation, including SCOs, job sheets, and QC packs, accurately matches the completed trailer prior to sign-off. Prioritise trailers for QA inspection in accordance with production schedules and direction from the Area Manager (Finishing). Identify non-conformances, defects, or incomplete works and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments. Liaise with Production, Paint, Engineering, and Finishing teams to ensure all rectification work is completed efficiently and to standard. Confirm all QA-related repairs, adjustments, and finishing works have been completed prior to trailer release. Ensure trailers are inspected, finalised, and ready for customer pick-up or delivery at the required time. Documentation & Reporting Capture and maintain photographic and video records of completed trailers, including operational and swing tests where required. Distribute completed trailer photos and videos to sales representatives for customer updates prior to delivery as requested. Maintain accurate QA documentation, inspection records, and reporting systems. Assist in the development, improvement, and documentation of quality control and QA procedures and processes. Operational Support Assist with trailer deliveries and customer handovers as required. Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and touch-up works within skill capability. Support other operational areas when required to meet production and business needs. Undertake additional duties as delegated by management within the scope of skills, training, and competency. Skills & Experience Essential Previous QA inspection experience in manufacturing or heavy vehicle industries Knowledge of Australian Design Rules (ADR) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to interpret job sheets, specifications, and QA documentation. Effective communication and coordination skills across multiple departments. Ability to prioritise workloads and meet delivery deadlines. Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to quality improvement. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
