Duties Responsible for geological field activities of staff, and contractors working on relevant drilling programs, including, but not limited to: Liaising with all stakeholders to complete RD & Exploration drilling programs, safely, ensuring best practice, and maintaining cost efficiency Maintaining safety requirements, monitoring/controlling breaches of Company policy Understanding drilling proposals and exploration/resource concepts/techniques Work area risk assessments, monitoring & inspections Making material decisions based on geological knowledge. Awareness of environment and heritage, including, but not limited to: Awareness of environmental and heritage restrictions/guidelines Review of heritage survey areas and conduct new surveys Assess drill site clearing for minimum environmental impact and ease of rehabilitation Process driven approach to data acquisition and geological interpretation, defining potential resources, including but not limited to: Resource definition through geological interpretation/increasing geological confidence Maintaining relevant QAQC principles and JORC requirements. Working autonomously with tasks completed to a consistent and high professional standard Support the department statutory & internal reporting obligations Skills and Experience: Relevant Geology degree (BSC) from a recognised tertiary institution. 4 years practical experience in the following is required; Resource definition (drilling), Exploration geology, Production mine geology, Database management Competent with demonstrated skills in spreadsheet and presentation applications, word processing and Database applications. Exposure to drill database management and 3D Mining Software – Surpac (desirable), Datamine, Micromine or similar. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, engage team to solve problems, and develop solutions. While earning respect through fair treatment of people, feedback, and mentoring of junior team members. Satisfactory GSDU / NPC clearance. Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
