Joy through social connection as a Volunteer Provide social opportunities for our older patients in the Older Persons’ Mental Health unit at North Ryde. As a volunteer, you will offer friendly conversation and find ways of connecting through playing games, doing puzzles, colouring in or other activities. Or perhaps it will be your skills as a good listener that promotes a connection with the patients. As a volunteer you will be empathic and find ways to facilitate relaxed, social engagement with the patients. This role is all about kindness, presence, and the power of social connection. Requirements Applicants must be aged 18 years and over, HammondCare will organise and pay for a national police check. You will be required to meet NSW Dept of Health Immunisation standards for the category of this role (including HepB, Measles mumps and rubella, Tetanus, influenza or be willing to discuss meeting the requirements). One hour each week for 12 months or longer, We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time between Monday to Friday.
