We are seeking someone with significant experience in program-level pest management to fill a key role with the QPWS Pest Services team to improve protected area management outcomes. This position is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating programs and providing high level technical and professional advice on ecological management, pest risk mitigation, targeted intervention and adaptive management approaches. This Principal Conservation Officer is responsible for leadership and coordination of pest management, including ensuring that Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) implement best practice, evidence-based pest management across all tenures. The role supervises and coordinates programs to monitor, evaluate and continually improve the implementation of pest management operations on protected areas, forest estate and marine parks throughout the state.
