About the Role: We are seeking an Internal Communications Advisor , Location – THQ Blackburn (VIC) for a Full Time -Permanent opportunity. Purpose of the Role: The Internal Communications Advisor will develop, implement and evaluate communication plans and provide strategic communication advice to internal stakeholders. This includes partnering with selected portfolios (Salvos Stores) across The Salvation Army to deliver effective communications that meet their requirements, in line with the national internal communications strategy. The role contributes to the development and maintenance of a coordinated internal communications calendar and simple intake/triage process, ensuring clarity, prioritisation and alignment across organisational communication needs and ensures content and channel governance practices are upheld, including version control, brand consistency and accessibility standards. Key Roles and Responsibilities: The advisor is responsible for the day-to-day management and enhancement of internal communications channels, curation of content and coordination of regular organisational communications. Communications Advice Support the implementation of an Internal Communications Strategic Plan to effectively deliver against the mission, objectives and overall strategy of The Salvation Army. Develop and implement internal communications plans, tactics and channels, to effectively distribute information across the Army and selected portfolios (Salvos Stores). Measure the effectiveness of internal communications messaging and communication channels on a regular basis and make recommendations as appropriate. Contribute to the creation and management of a content planning calendar aligned to organisational priorities, ensuring timely and coordinated communications delivery. Stakeholder Engagement Act as a business partner - develop strong collaborative relationships with other communication specialists and teams; and provide advice and practical support to departments to ensure whole organisation strategic view of internal communication. Advise and support departments and Divisional offices in developing internal communications programs and plans in line with the national internal communications strategy. Build trusting, proactive relationships with leaders and functional teams to source information, maintain consistent internal narratives and provide clear, practical communication recommendations. Communication Delivery Ensure communications tactics are developed and delivered in line with national processes and protocols, brand and broader communication objectives. Develop a range of collateral such as toolkits, communication packs, fact sheet sheets and infographics so TSA personnel are kept informed and engaged. Support the broader team with mitigating issues/risks. Draft, edit and prepare internal communications including newsletters, operational updates and leader messages, ensuring clarity, accessibility and alignment with internal communication standards. Support the continuous improvement of internal communication channels, using stakeholder feedback, engagement measures and light‑touch testing to enhance effectiveness. Channel moderation for social media and webinars where needed. Education and Qualifications Required: Minimum bachelor’s degree in communications/public Relations/Journalism or related field. Minimum 3 years’ communications experience in the NFP or Retail environments desirable. Experience in developing and delivering successful communications strategies/plans. Success in relationship building and stakeholder management. Requirements of the role: A national police record check is required Valid Driver’s Licence.
