Job Description Summary GE Vernova is seeking a highly motivated and technically accomplished Project Manager to lead the integrated delivery of a flagship Synchronous Condenser Project for in New South Wales. This role is a critical part of Australia's energy transition, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-voltage primary plant and integrated secondary system across multiple strategic sites. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader capable of navigating complex technical interfaces and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with major utility clients, suppliers and multi-disciplinary teams and partners. Job Description Key Responsibilities 1. Integrated Project Delivery Lead the end-to-end execution of a large-scale EPC scope, encompassing detailed engineering, global manufacturing, complex logistics, and site-based installation and commissioning. Drive project progress against a fast-tracked programme, ensuring all technical and administrative milestones are met on time. Manage the transition between design development and site execution. 2. Collaborative Stakeholder & Interface Management Act as the primary point of contact between client in matters relating to third-party construction partners. Lead regular coordination workshops and interface meetings to ensure GE’s technical alignment across interfaces. Maintain a responsive, solutions-first approach to client queries, ensuring project objectives remain the priority throughout the delivery lifecycle. 3. Commercial & Technical Governance Provide robust commercial management of the contract, including budget oversight, and cash flow forecasting. Support active risk management approach to ensure timely and on-time delivery. Manage a complex global supply chain, ensuring that vendor engagement is prioritised to meet critical site-access windows. Oversee and support the quality and timely submission of design packages, ensuring that technical deliverables meet standards and regulatory requirements. 4. Site Leadership & Duties Support site leadership in fulfilment of the responsibilities of Principal Contractor during the site execution phase, ensuring 100% adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Lead planning of site mobilisation , logistics coordination and management of OSOM deliveries. Ensure the delivery of high-quality "as-constructed" documentation. Required Qualifications & Experience Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (highly preferred) or a related technical discipline. Professional Experience: A minimum of 10–15 years of project management experience within the power generation, transmission, major high-voltage infrastructure sectors, or related utility sectors. Technical Expertise: Proven experience delivering projects involving Rotating Electrical Equipment (Synchronous Condensers or large-scale generators) and High-Voltage Substation environments preferred. Australian Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Australian Standards, NSW WHS legislation, and the nuances of the Australian utility sector. Systems Capability: Proficiency in project management tools high-level document control/collaboration platforms. Leadership Style: A self-starter with exceptional coordination and negotiation skills, and the ability to lead multi-national teams in a dynamic, "accelerated" environment. Work Conditions Based in North Sydney with full flexibility for regular travel to regional project sites and client offices across NSW. Ability to work effectively within active high-voltage environments and industrial settings.
