We have an exciting Commercial lead opportunity with a growing contracting group of companies who deliver civil construction projects throughout Sydney metro and wider regional NSW. Due to continued growth our client is now looking for an experienced Commercial Manager from a strong legal and contract management background to lead their precontracts / commercial function which includes a small team of Estimators and Contract Administrators. The business is approaching 20 years trading history and delivers a range of construction services including concrete, drainage, Utilities, and substations for a range of clients including tier 1/2 main contractors and government agencies. Typical projects range up to $50m in value. The business is currently growing outside of its core area providing an exciting time to join the organisation, having previously worked on transport infrastructure projects in the metro area. They are now tendering heavily in new markets including the renewables space in NSW. As such the ideal candidate will have gained experience working for a tier 2 or tier 3 contractor here in Sydney. Candidate Criteria: Bachelor's degree in Law or Quantity Surveying. 10 years' experience in a Contracts Management role within civil construction. Australian main contractor experience. Understanding of Project financial management with an ability to interrogate and provide transparent reporting. Knowledge and expertise in handling claims, subcontractor management, planning and administrative processes. Proven negotiation experience, commercial contracts. Ability to lead / manage a small team. Risk management encompassing the development of commercial and risk profiles of complex projects. Full Australian working rights.
