A regional City Council is looking for a detail oriented and customer focused Payroll Officer to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across the business. You will ensure each pay run is processed efficiently, time and attendance data is correctly interpreted and all legislative requirements like tax and superannuation are met. You will also act as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, providing expert guidance and support on payroll-related matters. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality customer service by providing accurate payroll advice and support to managers and employees Assist in the accurate, timely, and cost-effective processing of payroll cycles Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, industrial awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll documentation, including process guides and audit records Monitor payroll and time & attendance systems, identifying and reporting discrepancies or issues Escalate risks, discrepancies, or non-compliance Collaborate with internal teams including HRIS, Reporting & Compliance, and People and Culture Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes Contribute to a positive team culture and actively participate in team discussions and meetings Undertake additional payroll-related tasks as required to support business needs About You You are a motivated and reliable payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.
