About the Role Operations Manager – SA Water Maintenance Program Happy Valley, SA | Leadership Role | Utilities & Infrastructure Service Stream is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the safe, reliable and high‑performing delivery of the SA Water maintenance program. This senior leadership role oversees a large, diverse workforce and is accountable for operational performance, financial discipline and the consistent delivery of regulatory, customer and contractual requirements. As the Operations Manager, you will provide strategic operational leadership, driving HSEQ excellence, continuous improvement, and a culture grounded in respect, accountability and safety. This role requires strong capability in managing multi‑disciplinary teams, coordinating high‑volume field operations, and maintaining effective relationships with SA Water and key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead end‑to‑end operational delivery across water and wastewater network maintenance. Champion a safety‑first culture, embedding safe behaviours and ensuring HSEQ compliance. Manage operational performance, budgets, forecasting and cost control. Drive service quality, operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide visible, values‑based leadership to supervisors and a workforce of ~130 people. Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with SA Water and internal delivery partners. Build and sustain an inclusive, respectful and high‑performing workplace culture. About You Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations leadership within civil construction, water infrastructure or road maintenance environments. Strong background managing internal workforces and subcontractors to meet program, cost and quality requirements. Proven ability to lead large teams with a focus on safety leadership, operational excellence and commercial acumen. Deep understanding of civil construction or water/wastewater network management. Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and people‑leadership skills. Engineering qualifications (B.Eng or similar) are highly regarded. Current driver’s licence required.
