Job Description The Role We are seeking an experienced and innovative Mining Engineer, Geologist or Metallurgist to fulfill the role of Manager - Mining Technical Services at MRP. This role will play a key part in maximizing the value of MRP’s investments within Australia and internationally. Reporting to the General Manager of Resource Development (Mining Technical Services), the Manager – Mining Technical Services will lead Project Due Diligence on potential new Battery Minerals projects, and current and potential new coal projects. Key responsibilities of this role include but not limited to: Lead Project Due Diligence in evaluating battery minerals acquisitions in support of Mitsui’s growth strategy; Providing technical expertise to ensure sound governance at an operational level for existing/future assets; Conducting monthly forecasting and reporting of existing/future Joint Venture’s to local management and our Head Office in Tokyo, Japan. Providing technical support to mining technology investment (mets). Enhancing Mitsui’s Resources knowledge base in mining operations Domestic and International travel will be required based on project needs. You will also possess: Extensive experience in mining Project Evaluation Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering/Geology/Metallurgy or related degree Exposure to battery minerals (eg lithium, copper, nickel), as a primary focus. Exposure to Coal (preferred, not essential) Understanding of downstream processing of non ferrous metals. Operational experience in large scale surface and/or underground operations Experience in completing due diligence studies and independent pier reviews Have proven analytical and problem solving skills Excellent business acumen and commercial knowledge A willingness to proactively work towards collective goals.
