Introduction We’re looking for a detail‑oriented and dependable Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our Finance team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Manager Systems & Transaction Services , you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and payroll, while partnering closely with the wider Finance and People & Culture teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and accounts payable, values accuracy and confidentiality, and is keen to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Description Key Responsibilities Process accounts payable (AP), including invoice entry, workflows and supplier payments. Set up and maintain supplier accounts and reconcile supplier statements. Prepare and maintain AP reporting (Inc. aged creditor reports, payment run summaries, and month‑end accrual support) and provide documentation and reconciliations for external audits. Reconcile bank, payroll and general ledger accounts. Process corporate credit cards and employee expense reimbursements. Support payroll processing, ensuring accuracy across pay, leave and entitlements. Ensure compliance with payroll statutory and tax requirements, including PAYG withholding, Superannuation Guarantee, Single Touch Payroll reporting, enterprise agreement obligations, leave and termination payments. Monitor payroll calendars and statutory due dates, support periodic reconciliations (PAYG, super and payroll accounts), and assist with year‑end obligations such as payment summaries and payroll reporting as required. Maintain payroll and employee data across systems with a high level of confidentiality. Prepare payroll journals and monthly reporting. Respond to employee and supplier queries professionally and efficiently. Contribute to process improvements and documentation across payroll and AP. Skills And Experiences About You You’re highly organised, methodical and take pride in delivering accurate work. You enjoy working to deadlines, managing competing priorities and building strong working relationships across the business. You’ll bring: 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable and/or Payroll roles. Relevant Certificate qualifications (Cert IV Bookkeeping highly regarded). Experience using enterprise finance and payroll systems (SAP and/or ELMO preferred). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills. Sound understanding of confidentiality and data integrity requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A proactive mindset with an interest in continuous improvement. Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (highly regarded). Experience in the oil and gas or energy sector (desirable, not essential) Our People Our people are vital to our success.
