Description Reporting to Team Leader Civil Maintenance, this position is responsible for carrying out a wide range of general civil maintenance tasks across the city. You’ll be working hands-on in the field, delivering quality works safely, efficiently, and to council standards. Our Civil Maintenance team looks after the city’s footpaths, kerbs, paving and stormwater assets. Based in Golden Grove, we deliver both planned and reactive works to keep our streets, reserves and public spaces safe, accessible and well maintained for the community. To support this work, we’re looking for a skilled Field Officer Civil Maintenance to join our team. Key Responsibilities of this role: Assisting with the removal and reinstatement of concrete footpaths and kerbs, including site preparation, operating tipper trucks, and disposal of materials Carrying out stormwater maintenance tasks including side entrance pit repairs, lid replacements, and general infrastructure upkeep Performing creek and waterway maintenance including erosion control, vegetation management, and sediment removal Working safely in and around civil plant and equipment including backhoes, excavators, and tipper trucks Setting up and maintaining temporary traffic management and general site safety controls Completing site risk assessments and following councils WHS procedures Working as part of a team and supporting apprentices or new staff where required Position Description - Field Officer, Civil Maintenance About you: You’ll be someone who takes pride in doing quality work safely, and is reliable as part of a team. You’ll bring hands-on experience in civil maintenance, and a practical approach to getting the job done properly. To be successful in this role, you will have: Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) A Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) or Temporary Traffic Management Implementor 1 (TMI1) and Traffic Controller 1 (TC1) Current South Australian Class HR licence Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical. This job will include: Occasional out of hours work may be required. Working with teams across the Field Services Department as required by the Supervisor, Civil Operations. This position may be labour intensive at times and requires physical capacity for activities associated with the regular use of minor plant and hand tools. Apply today!
