IM Partners is recruiting on behalf of Skyworld, for an Estimator to join our their team on a full-time basis. The Role This role is suited to a commercially aware estimator with experience in construction-related estimating, ideally in glass, glazing, aluminium framing or a similar project-based environment. The role is responsible for preparing accurate and commercially sound estimates and quotations, supporting tender submissions, coordinating supplier pricing inputs, and helping ensure awarded work is handed over clearly and correctly into delivery. Key duties and responsibilities Prepare estimates and quotations for glass, glazing and aluminium framing work across relevant projects and opportunities Review tender drawings, architectural drawings, specifications, BOQs, site information, supplier pricing and other inputs to prepare accurate costings Complete take-offs and pricing assessments using company systems, templates and estimating tools Prepare clear inclusions, exclusions, assumptions and qualifications to improve pricing accuracy and reduce ambiguity Identify omissions, inconsistencies, scope gaps, pricing risks and unclear items and seek clarification where required Assist with tender submissions and supporting commercial documentation Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, product availability and technical information required for estimating Work with internal stakeholders including project managers, procurement and production personnel to clarify scope and support estimate completeness Follow up quotations, tenders and pricing opportunities in a timely and professional manner Maintain organised and traceable pricing files, records and supporting documents Assist with handover of awarded work by ensuring estimate files, assumptions, inclusions and exclusions are clearly documented Support post-award review of submitted pricing to identify discrepancies, variations or matters requiring clarification Contribute to estimating process improvement, workflow discipline and general estimating administration Skills and experience required At least 3 years of experience in estimating, quotation preparation or a similar commercial support role within a construction, glazing, aluminium framing, manufacturing or project-based environment Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, BOQs and supplier pricing inputs Ability to prepare accurate take-offs and costings and manage multiple pricing priorities at once Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Confidence using estimating and documentation systems with a high level of accuracy Experience with V6 is required, or the ability to learn it quickly Experience with CAD and Adobe Suite is required Experience with Bluebeam is desirable Experience with Windows Ali packages is highly regarded Trade, building or technical background will be viewed favourably Personal attributes Commercially aware and detail-focused Organised, practical and reliable Able to work to deadlines without losing control of detail Proactive in chasing information and resolving scope uncertainty Professional in communication with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders Able to work effectively in a hands-on business environment To apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your estimating experience, relevant industry background and software capability.
