Senior Project Financial Accountant Due to continued growth across Queensland, Georgiou is seeking a Project Financial Accountant with relevant tertiary qualifications and experience to join our Project Based civil engineering teams. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for accounting and tasks and reporting for a major civil infrastructure rail project. What you’ll do (but not limited to): Responsible for the completion of financial accounting tasks and reporting of the project by ensuring the financial accounts and statutory compliance requirements are prepared accurately and on a timely basis, in accordance with all legislation and Australian and international accounting standards. Ensure monthly re-charge journals are posted within the reporting timetable dates and calculations and records are maintained. Assist with the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of financial accounts. Prepare the monthly project overhead forecast and actual cost analysis. Ensure local, state and federal statutory requirements including ATO requirements are completed in accordance with required time frames. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly FBT and tax return work papers and ensure these are completed in a timely manner for management and external tax advisor review. Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to your upward managers and wider business. Identify coaching / training needs of business unit staff performing financial processes and the financial accounting team. What you’re good at: You’re focused, driven and a team player with a commitment to excellence, someone with: Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant in the construction or engineering sector. A finance of accounting degree with CPA or CA status being highly regarded. Proven experience in the lodgment of PAYG, BAS & FBT returns. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships across the business.
