Pearl Home Care comprises a national network of qualified care providers who offer nursing, daily living assistance, social support, and domestic assistance to aged care and NDIS participants. Currently, Pearl Home Care operates via 39 franchises across six states and territories within Australia. The Head Office team supports franchise partners to drive national strategy, operational performance, and quality of care across the network as the Approved Provider. Due to the continued growth and expansion of our operations, we are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial management and compliance needs of the business. About the role: This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the organisation’s financial reporting and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable, performing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting budgeting processes and preparing management reports. Key responsibilities: Reporting to the CFO, the Accountant will be responsible for: Assisting in the development and implementation of budgetary and accounting policies Preparing financial statements and reports for management and internal stakeholders Assisting in examining operating costs, income and expenditure, and identifying variances Ensuring that the business complies with all relevant regulations and legislation. This includes preparing and lodging BAS, IAS, and other taxation returns, ensuring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission regulations, and ensuring compliance with the Fair Work Act Assisting in maintaining internal control systems and ensuring accuracy of financial information Maintaining and improving accounting systems, including appropriate financial software for managing care-based service operations Assisting with financial analysis, audits and investigations, and preparing reports for management on financial performance and compliance matters Liaising with financial institutions and external advisors as required Supporting cash flow monitoring and assisting in assessing financial risks associated with business activities Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor of Accounting, Master of Professional Accounting, or a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) program. Work experience may be considered in lieu of qualifications. At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role. A National Criminal Clearance Check less than 6 months old before engagement, and subsequent criminal records checks at least once every three years OR a current and valid NDIS Screening Check, to be renewed every five years.
