About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Network Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and optimising telecommunications networks and systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities Planning, designing, building, configuring, and commissioning telecommunications networks and systems, including voice, radio, data, microwave, satellite, and digital communication systems Ensuring interoperability of telecommunications systems with equipment from different manufacturers, service providers, and end users Preparing detailed engineering project proposals, defining project scope, objectives, technical requirements, and cost estimates Evaluating and procuring telecommunications equipment, hardware, and services from vendors Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies Selecting and developing telecommunications sites, including conducting site surveys, preparing documentation, and managing approval processes Determining appropriate configurations of telecommunications hardware and software to achieve optimal system performance Preparing and interpreting technical specifications, drawings, and regulatory requirements Designing circuit layouts, transmission paths, and equipment configurations Identifying and analysing issues in existing telecommunications systems (e.g., interference, signal clarity, performance limitations) and implementing effective solutions Monitoring network performance and recommending upgrades, enhancements, and preventative maintenance strategies Assessing system capacity and performance trends to develop short-term and long-term infrastructure improvement plans Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 1 year experience in telecommunications network engineering or closely related field. Strong knowledge of network design, fibre optics, wireless systems, and transmission technologies. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
