Indigeco is supporting a major Federal Government department to source an APS6 Senior Procurement Officer for a 6-month non-ongoing contract, with strong potential for extension. About the role This is a high-impact role within a central procurement team responsible for delivering end-to-end procurement activities, including high-value and high-risk procurements. You will work collaboratively with program areas to ensure procurement processes are compliant, timely, and aligned with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules. Operating with limited direction, you will contribute to strategic supply planning through to contract closure, while providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders across the Department. Key Responsibilities Deliver end-to-end procurement activities from planning through to contract execution and closure Provide expert advice and support on complex procurement processes across business areas Lead and support the Expression of Interest and tender processes Develop tender documentation, evaluation plans, and procurement strategies Assist with the evaluation of submissions and contribute to contract negotiations Provide guidance on supply planning, including market research, specifications, and approvals Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and departmental policies Support probity, risk management, and quality assurance activities Maintain accurate and compliant procurement records Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the Department Lead or mentor junior staff and contribute to team capability uplift Key Requirements Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or contract management within a government or similar environment Strong understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge Ability to manage procurement activities under limited direction Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills Strong communication, organisational, and project management capability Experience supporting or leading complex procurement processes Ability to conduct research, analysis, and provide practical procurement advice Strong attention to detail, particularly in compliance and record keeping Highly Regarded Certificate IV in Procurement and Contract Management Experience in Federal Government procurement environments If this sounds like an interesting opportunity, then apply today!
