Job Description Position: APS6 Automation Tester Location: Canberra, ACT Start date: July 2026 Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend Pay rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience Security requirements: Must hold a Baseline security clearance Overview: A Federal Government department is seeking experienced Automation Testers to support the delivery of a range of ICT projects within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role sits within a technology division responsible for delivering digital solutions and enabling services across the organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, accessibility, and reliability of modern web-based applications. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and test cases using tools such as Azure DevOps Execute manual and automated testing for web-based applications Prioritise testing activities and manage test execution effectively Analyse requirements, user stories, and specifications to design appropriate test coverage Identify, log, and track defects using appropriate tools Contribute to the development and implementation of automation testing practices Ensure solutions meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with business stakeholders Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across agile and traditional delivery environments Experience/requirements: Essential: Demonstrated experience in automation testing and software/application testing roles Strong ability to develop and execute complex test plans, cases, and strategies Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, agile environments with distributed teams Knowledge and experience in testing for WCAG accessibility compliance Strong written and verbal communication skills, including engagement with non-technical stakeholders Desirable: Experience testing custom applications within Azure or Microsoft technology environments Familiarity with managing test artefacts and execution using Azure DevOps Experience supporting and guiding User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes Apply now or contact SOS Recruitment on 6260 8888 for a confidential discussion.
