The Role Assist with the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts, agreements and other legal documents. Provide timely and practical legal advice to a range of internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. Support the legal team in managing risk, resolving disputes, and interpreting legislation affecting council operations. Conduct research and prepare legal opinions on local government matters including procurement, property, planning and regulatory issues. Help monitor and implement changes in relevant legislation and policies. Liaise with external counsel and stakeholders as required. Support the wider legal and governance team on projects as they arise. About You Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD), admitted or eligible for admission as a solicitor in NSW. Up to 2 years' post-admission experience, ideally with exposure to government, property, or commercial law (including work placements or internships). Strong communication skills with an ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal colleagues. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
