The Director, Procurement – Development’s key accountability is to develop Development and Construction procurement capability as a value focused, strategic and agile capability, that leverages partnerships through effective stakeholder management and key business partners to sustainably deliver substantial year-on-year cost savings without compromising longer-term value creation Proactive partnership and collaboration across the Development division (including Design and Construction) to co- design and deliver a prioritised pipeline of procurement projects, to optimise value outcomes (applying a total cost of ownership lens) via deep embedment in, and understanding of, the business and the customer value proposition For the aligned pipeline, work with the business to prepare the category and/ or go to market strategies including the agreed end to end procurement approach (eg tender, direct negotiation, e-sourcing, use of AI, blockchain etc) with transparency, accountability and rigour, which gives our partners confidence in a fair and equitable process and can be successfully executed by business and project teams Working with all relevant stakeholders, optimise design standards to obtain the most favourable commercial, execution and customer outcomes, without compromising Mirvac’s reputation for design excellence, innovation and quality. Develop and own a central repository of all current and future procurement partnership deals relevant to Development and Construction and ensure adequate supporting comms issued and managed with the business Embed and fully implement all new and previously delivered category strategies so they are adopted in BAU across projects, with benefits tracked and reported Working with the Procurement Business Partner, Group Excellence, ensure that the procurement delivery platform (including supporting technology solutions) is fit for purpose and appropriately aligned to other Mirvac divisions and groups, with relevant procurement activities embedded as appropriate into business and project processes Undertake and maintain supplier segmentation and develop a divisional supplier management plan which includes identification of critical business partners and potential new sub-contractors/ suppliers broadening our sourcing options and building value accretive and innovative partnerships (including reducing our carbon footprint across our extended supply chain), whilst applying an enterprise lens and also rationalising the tail where appropriate. Establishing an effective operating rhythm and supporting communications for the Development Procurement Council & Working Group, DLT, CMT and other key leadership groups to report on progress (including procurement project milestones, benefits, supplier performance and associated KPIs/ metrics), secure approvals, escalate issues and revise the dynamic pipeline as required Work with the Responsible Sourcing Manager, to address Procurement’s key roles relating to carbon emission reduction (including Scope 3), expanding social procurement and the identification and remediation of modern slavery issues in our extended supply chain Ongoing significant contribution to Mirvac’s “This Changes Everything” strategy Active membership of the Procurement & Workplace and GAS extended leadership teams with specific support of our P2P process Team leadership including coaching and development of team members and role modelling behaviours aligned to Mirvac’s Values and Code of Conduct Through all of the above, establish procurement as a strategic capability that works flexibly as a proactive partner to the business, ensuring that the link between procurement and contracting outcomes is considered and appropriately balances risk and reward Your point of difference A minimum of eight years’ experience in a corporate or other large organization; property/ construction industry (including materials procurement)/ supply chain/ procurement/ ESG experience highly desirable Commercially oriented roles Conversant with technology solutions from ERPs to e-tools and apps Leadership of cross functional/ diverse teams Highly developed project management change management and stakeholder influencing/relationship management skills Advanced communication capability (written and verbal) to effectively engage at executive level Robust analysis capability to convert data into insights and actions Ability to interrogate and enhance policies, processes and procedures to drive business outcomes including via appropriate technology enablement Pragmatism to drive results, self-awareness and curiosity with highly developed emotional intelligence Highly desirable – procurement/ category management and negotiation skills All of these attributes are preferred, if you think you may be the right fit for the role please still apply.
