Our government client is seeking an experienced actuary to join their team providing actuarial support for a range of long-tail schemes. This role is based in Brisbane. About the role Provide actuarial services and advice regarding general insurance, disability schemes and regulated private sector schemes, also advising on ‘non-standard’ actuarial matters as required. Communicate results and implications of complex actuarial analysis to stakeholders at all levels, including technical experts, senior executives, and committees of various Government agencies and schemes. Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships across Government departments and agencies, insurers, external actuarial providers and other stakeholders. Provide strategic direction, coaching, mentoring and guidance to the team and to the data analytics teams of key clients. About you Must be qualified as a FIAA or equivalent. Minimum of 10 years of relevant actuarial experience in general insurance. Strong technical/analytical skills – this role will require providing guidance around how to enhance internal processes. Strong and effective written and oral communication skills to all stakeholder levels. The ability to understand and manage the nuances of public and private sector insurance schemes and Government policy issues. Previous experience in long-tail schemes is well-regarded but not essential.
