The Process Manager role is responsible for the operational control of the plant to comply with SA Water’s production and water quality targets, including optimisation of water quality standards and energy and chemical consumption. About the Opportunity ACCIONA Agua is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Process Managers to support operations at the Eyre Peninsular Desalination Plant. This role is responsible for process performance, troubleshooting, and operational leadership, including training the operations team, maintaining water quality records, and supporting client engagement regarding plant performance and water production forecasts. What are the key accountabilities for the position? Operate the Plant to meet SA Water water quality and production requirements Test and verify plant process performance and undertake process troubleshooting as required Train the operations team to respond to plant/process alarms and attempt immediate rectification Maintain water quality records and initiate corrective action when required Participate in an on‑call roster (24/7) to respond to plant malfunctions Manage and arrange shifts and rosters for Process Controllers and Operations Assistants Participate in meetings with the client regarding plant performance and water production forecasts Establish contracts with chemical suppliers and UF/RO membrane manufacturers Undertake Management Committee duties, including budget preparation/reviews/approvals, review of company policies, management plans/procedures, and participation in Board meetings WHS-specific Ensure safe systems of work are followed by the operations team Comply with WHS statutory requirements, including Duty of Care Comply with ACCIONA Agua WHS policies, procedures, and safe work instructions Participate in WHS consultation/communication with the ADP operations team Participate in the development of WHS procedures Comply with SA water policies and requirements Key Result Areas Water quality Water production Plant performance Operations team compliance with policies, plans and procedures Required Skills and Competencies Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering Circa 5 years’ experience operating desalination plants Familiarity with water treatment processes Experience in membrane process: ultra‑filtration (UF) and/or reverse osmosis (RO) Strong communication skills in English & Spanish desirable Ability to prioritise and work autonomously Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capability as part of normal operations What we offer Engineers at ACCIONA work on complex, meaningful infrastructure.
