Overview: Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 Superannuation (FTE) Part-Time: 3 days per week Location: Mascot Industry : Retail Distribution Remit: Transactional through to reporting, budgeting, forecasting (whoa to go) The Opportunity: You’ll be working with an amazing retail distribution business that honestly gave me one of the best product sampler packs I’ve ever had. I promise, you will be sorted with stocking stuffers for life working here. What's happening? With the bookkeeping function currently outsourced, this is a newly created role or more accurately, a newly insourced role, designed for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can build smart, scalable processes. We're essentially looking for a hands-on Accountant to take the reins of the day-to-day finance function, and partner with a fractional CFO, the CEO and the broader leadership team. This is not a business trying to squeeze five days of work into three. There’s no expectation that you’re glued to your inbox and on call 24/7. It’s a legitimate part-time opportunity for someone who wants meaningful work, real ownership impact, and the chance to be embedded in a good business. Role Profile This will be a broad, hands-on finance role with genuine ownership across the day-to-day running of the function. You will take responsibility for the financial housekeeping, but also sit close enough to the operation to actually understand what is going on commercially and support better decision-making as the business continues to grow. Key focus areas will include: Managing transactional finance processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger integrity. Overseeing cash flow and maintaining clear financial visibility for leadership Preparing monthly reporting and supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis Managing core compliance requirements, including BAS, payroll (relatively small payroll) and other statutory obligations Help maintain good financial controls, process discipline and accuracy across the business Improve processes where possible, tighten reporting and help create a more responsive in-house finance function Successful Candidate Profile We’re looking for someone who can comfortably operate as a Company Accountant. Someone who’s as comfortable processing an invoice or chasing a debtor as they are providing meaningful advice to the CEO. We would love someone who: Ideally has experience in a product-led, retail distribution environment, ideally dealing with Coles, Woolworths, Metcash etc. Enjoys being hands-on and taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function Has enough experience to work autonomously and keep things moving without fuss Understands the realities of a stock-based or distribution-style business Brings sound technical capability across reporting, compliance and transactional finance Likes being part of a stable team and a real business, not just sitting off to the side processing numbers Is genuinely looking for a proper three-day-per-week role and sees the value in that balance This role will suit someone who wants part-time hours without stepping sideways into something small, stale or low-impact. It’s a good business, it has good leadership and it’s a genuinely good role. Application Housekeeping: Sponsorship pathways are not available, so we cannot consider overseas applications or Working Holiday Makers. You need to be based in Sydney and have full working rights. Because the role is part-time, it does not mean it’s remote. You will need to be in Mascot 2-3 days per week We will want to clearly understand why you are specifically looking for a part-time opportunity. Please outline your reason in the application process. Apply Now: If you meet the key criteria and believe you're a strong fit for the role, please apply now or contact Liam Hassell at Recruitment Labs on for a confidential discussion.
