Role Overview This is a well-rounded Assistant Accountant role supporting core finance operations and month-end processes within a high-performing team. You will play an important role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial close, while also contributing to reporting, analysis, and day-to-day finance activities. The role offers exposure across multiple areas of the finance function, including cash management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys structure and consistency, while still gaining exposure to broader finance processes and commercial insights. Key responsibilities include: Support the month-end close process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations Perform daily bank reconciliations, transaction allocations, and manage payment runs Assist with preparation of divisional P&L reporting, including variance analysis and commentary Contribute to KPI and management reporting, linking financial results to operational performance Support ATO lodgements (BAS, FBT, PAYG) and ABS reporting requirements Assist with gross margin and working capital analysis Collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, and broader business units Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across processes, reporting, and controls Support external audit requirements and year-end processes Ideal Candidate You will bring experience from an Assistant Accountant or similar role, with exposure to month-end processes and transactional finance activities. You are detail-oriented, reliable, and take pride in producing accurate work. You enjoy being part of a team, are comfortable working in a structured environment, and are confident building relationships with internal stakeholders. Key Requirements 2 years’ experience in an accounting or Assistant Accountant role Exposure to month-end processes and financial reporting Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good understanding of core accounting principles Experience with bank reconciliations and transactional finance processes Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Accounting degree (CA/CPA working towards is advantageous but not essential)
