The Role We are seeking a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to support a business that has recently transitioned to large proprietary company status to strengthen their financial reporting processes and support audit readiness. In this 6 month contract role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and external auditors, taking ownership of statutory reporting, reconciliations, and technical accounting matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a hands-on, high-impact environment. The duties of your role will include but not be limited to the following. Prepare statutory accounts, including full disclosures and supporting working papers Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness Preparation for the first external audit, ensuring readiness across financial records, processes, and documentation Prepare and manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating queries and managing timelines Apply and interpret revenue recognition in line with AASB 15 Identify and implement improvements to financial controls, processes, and reporting frameworks The Candidate CA or CPA qualified, you bring proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within a growing business. You possess strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting and AASB standards (particularly AASB 15), along with experience managing or supporting external audits. With a high attention to detail, you demonstrate strong reconciliation and analytical skills, complemented by your ability to communicate confidently and liaise effectively with senior stakeholders and auditors. You are proactive in your approach, with a continuous improvement mindset and a drive to enhance processes and outcomes.
