We’re on the lookout for a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Analyst (Operations) to join our Cyber team in Digital & Technology. I n this fulltime, permanent role, you’ll play a critical part in protecting our organisation by operating , engineering, and continuously improving cyber security controls across on-premise and cloud environments. Working closely with technology teams and cyber specialists, you’ll help detect, respond to, and reduce cyber risks in a complex healthcare and community services environment. Key Responsibilities Operate and optimise core cyber security platforms including endpoint protection, SIEM, identity and access controls, email security, vulnerability management and data protection. Monitor and analyse security events and data to identify threats, vulnerabilities and anomalous activity. Validate the effectiveness of cyber security controls and identify opportunities for remediation or improvement. Lead the technical response to complex or high ‑ impact security incidents, including investigation, containment, remediation and post ‑ incident review. Improve detection and response capability through tuning, use case development and optimisation of security tooling. Perform hands ‑ on security engineering activities including configuration changes, control enhancements, integrations and deployment of operational security capabilities. Identify control gaps and implement practical, risk ‑ based security improvements. Support assurance activities by validating control operation and contributing to remediation actions. Work with IT teams, vendors and service providers to resolve security issues and uplift control effectiveness. Communicate security risks and operational issues clearly, escalating material risks to senior cyber leadership as . What you will bring: Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations and engineering. Experience with cloud security platforms and modern identity services. Strong understanding of information security principles, concepts and technologies, including endpoint protection, SIEM, identity and access management, email security, vulnerability management and incident response. Experience implementing, configuring and improving security controls in enterprise environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. An outcomes-focused and practical approach to information security challenges. Must pass Police and critical infrastructure background checks Desirable Experience working within healthcare, aged care, community services or not for profit environments. Scripting or automation skills to support operational efficiency and control uplift. Relevant industry recognised cyber security certifications. Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, Essential 8, and PCI DSS.
