The Controls Investigation Analyst role at Optus Administration Pty Ltd represents an outstanding opportunity to join a team committed to enhancing the efficiency of key controls across the Consumer Business Unit. This position is fundamental in strengthening our Consumer control environment. It supports efforts to remediate control weaknesses and advance risk reduction initiatives. You will collaborate with business and process owners to ensure control testing, investigations, and insights are reliable and contribute to strategic decisions. What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of: Complete build and operating efficiency testing of key controls within the assigned Consumer portfolio. Develop and maintain detailed test plans, evidence expectations, and assessment criteria aligned to process, policy, and audit requirements. Conduct root cause analysis for identified control deficiencies and bring up potential risks to the Compliance Investigations Team. Monitor control operating performance and emerging risk indicators to identify patterns, trends, and systemic weaknesses. Investigate control breakdowns, process failures, and emerging risks within the Consumer portfolio. Deliver evidence-based findings and suggestions to business and process owners to support decision making on control uplift & implementation. Act as the Control Investigation & Testing lead for an allocated domain within Consumer, building positive relationships with channel leaders and risk partners. Produce high-quality reporting, including testing results, thematic insights, KRIs/KCIs, risk trends, and channel performance. What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role? Proven experience in control testing, risk management, and compliance within a consumer goods environment. Strong understanding of Consumer channels including Retail, Product, Customer Engagement, Operations & Digital Channels Outstanding analytical abilities to perform root cause analysis and identify control gaps. Strong communication skills with the capacity to interpret technical issues into clear insights for business and process owners. Ambitious outlook with the ability to proactively find opportunities for process and control improvements. Strong collaborator management skills to foster long-term relationships and support corrective actions. General administrative skills, including detailed documentation and reporting.
