We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Workplace Health & Safety Advisor with experience in disability, aged care, community services or other human-service environments. In this role, you will ensure sites and workplaces across the CPL Group comply with relevant WHS Laws, regulations and Codes of Practice and that the CPL Group policies are adhered to. This is an opportunity to influence real safety outcomes across client homes, community settings, day centres, and office-based environments—places where our teams work closely with the people we support. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, practical, person-centred work environments for our frontline workforce. You’ll partner with managers and support staff to improve how safety is understood and lived in diverse service settings—whether that’s supporting clients at home, delivering programs in day services, or providing assistance out in the community. About The Role This exciting opportunity involves: Work collaboratively to provide advice and mentoring regarding proactive safety management. Undertake generalist work health and safety activities and conduct safety audits for the purpose of continuously improving the organisation’s work health and safety performance and safety culture. Maintain, review and update the CPL Group’s Work Health and Safety Risk Register. Support and mentor managers and supervisors on WHS risk management principles. Review worker incident reports with the relevant teams to ensure appropriate early incident management and an effective investigation and corrective actions are implemented. Analyse hazard, worker and client incident data, prepare reports relating to work health and safety, and develop and recommend strategies to create safer workplaces and safer work practices. Oversee and coordinate review, maintenance and amendment of systems as required. This is inclusive of the development, implementation, administration, and monitoring of work health and safety procedures, systems, programs and practices to achieve continuous improvement. In consultation with other teams, develop, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate work health and safety training that builds staff capability to achieve continuous improvement in provision of service, organisational work health and safety performance and safety culture. To Be Successful We are looking for: Relevant diploma or tertiary level safety qualification and/or 5 years’ experience in a workplace health and safety role. Experience in the health or human service sector will be highly regarded. Working knowledge of the RiskMan (risk management system) is desirable. WHS Rehabilitation and Return to Work knowledge would be desirable. Capacity to travel to assist in audits and to provide training and support to organisational staff, across a range of workplace environments. Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence with regular access to vehicle. Current First Aid and CPR qualifications is desirable A Working with Children Check, Blue Card in Queensland, or a Working with Children Check in New South Wales.
