With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.    Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Dietitian to join the Dietetics department.   Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role: The Allied Health Directorate is seeking a highly experienced Medical Dietitian for an acute senior role to oversee the medical stream at The Northern Hospital. This role will work alongside the other Grade 3 Acute clinicians to take responsibility for managing the day-to-day workloads at the hospital, ensuring prioritisation, handover and discharge planning occurs effectively within the acute team.   Applicants should have significant clinical experience within acute medical services, strong organisational and communication skills and an ability to build and drive teams. You will be required to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach and ensuring that you work closely with the Grade 4 Acute Dietitian and Associate Director of Dietetics  To be successful in this role you will have: Minimum 7 years clinical experience Demonstrated skill and expertise in the area of adult nutrition across a range of settings including adult nutrition support (complex acute medical patients) Knowledge and experience in meeting service KPIâsâ¯â¯Â Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills thatâ¯facilitateâ¯an ability to workâ¯within the MDT Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and an ability to network and draw on external expertise within the area of acute medicine Models the values of Northern Health and the Dietetics Department at all times    An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community educationâ¯Â High level negotiation and conflict resolution skillsâ¯Â A collaborative and consultative approach to working with key stakeholders Commitment to ongoing professional developmentâ¯Â Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and theâ¯ability to learn dedicated softwareâ¯Â Understanding of the cultural diversity of the communityâ¯Â  Next Steps . . .
