With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Psychiatrist to join the Virtual Specialist Consult department.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role: The Virtual Specialist Consult (VSC) service offers psychiatry specialist advice to community-based clinicians through tele-video. This position will aim to fast-track patient access to specialist advice, particularly for rural/remote patients with general practitioners wanting to manage their patients in the community supported by expert advice.  This role will also support interim provision of stimulant medications for patients with an established diagnosis of ADHD urgently seeking support and unable to acquire timely review, as a short term response whilst awaiting review from their regular provider.  To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and good working knowledge in specialty management Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety and strategies to address service access Well-developed effective communication skills utilising a Telehealth system Undergraduate or postgraduate medical degree Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent  Next Steps . . .
