About the Role The Environmental Regulatory Advisor is the single point of contact for all environmental and regulatory matters and is responsible for the coordination and oversight of environmental and regulatory programs, including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning aspects. Position: Enviromental Regulatory Advisor Location: Melbourne Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months Skills and Qualifications Previous experience in a closely related position Applicants must possess a University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences (e.g., anthropology, sociology), Engineering or some other technical field related to E&R management regarding environmental and/or socioeconomic and/or health matters Candidates should have experience regarding the environmental and/or socioeconomic and/or health field(s) preferably related to a construction or extractive industry project Knowledge of external project financing desirable Knowledge of (specific country) regulations desirable Responsibilities: Lead ESHIA and EMP development with consultants and project team Implement Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Management Plans Support SHE Manager on E&R activities and planning Secure and track project permits and approvals Integrate ESH standards into project design and execution Guide EPC contractors on E&R plan development and compliance Review and monitor E&R performance and EMP implementation Conduct site inspections and report compliance issues Prepare internal and external E&R reports Coordinate training, technical experts, and stakeholder communication Job is focused on: Coordinating EMP implementation Providing assistance regarding EMP implementation Conducting routine inspections/assessments Investigate, record, and report identified E&R compliance initiatives and non-compliance situations regarding environmental matters Ensure the proper and timely completion and submission of EMP implementation/monitoring/reporting forms and documents regarding environmental matters Prepare internal regulatory compliance stewardship reports regarding environmental matters Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered.
