Working across a range of different clients, different industries, different taxes and different tax issues both domestically and internationally. This is a wide and varied role, one typically only found in a mid-tier size firm, not a highly specialised large firm. Each day will typically bring variety and challenge across different taxes. In our role you will be expected to demonstrate superior Tax Services leadership across our firm both directly to our clients and indirectly through supporting other divisions within our firm. You need to live and breathe Tax with a passion and have strong tax technical skills and experience. Responsibilities: Preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS/IAS, FBT or payroll tax returns for individuals, Companies, Partnerships and Trusts. Expert utilisation of a range of accounting software including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Providing tax planning to clients, including analysing financial and non-financial information to assist clients to monitor performance Develop strong relationships with clients and seek to further these relationships through quality product delivery Recognizing potential additional work opportunities among current clients and actively promoting the firm and its services to both clients and associates. Manage the team training and mentoring with responsibilities to help grow the team’s knowledge and contribute to the business as a whole. Managing multi-jurisdiction teams and coordination with other experts engaged in the project. Qualifications: 10 years’ experience within Tax Services, with strong technical skills; CA or CPA / Master of Taxation / CTA or equivalent qualification Exposure to SGE’s, multinational companies, listed companies, large private groups and SME’s Ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients at differing levels Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to undertake business development activities Strong problem-solving and tax technical skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment Strong tax advisory skills with a proven history of working on complex transactions Strong understanding of tax compliance requirements Experience with dealing with the ATO, tax audits and with other external stakeholders / advisers Ability to project manage and deliver multiple client engagements Experience managing and mentoring talent through coaching and on the job training About the firm Ideally the next career step within a short time frame for the person in this role is to become a partner in the firm.
