In this role, you’ll work with the Laboratory Manager and the Mine Tailings team as a Laboratory Technician. This role will be based full-time in our Perth laboratory. As An Assistant Laboratory Technician, You'll Under guidance from Laboratory Manager perform sampling, sample preparation, testing and reporting of soil and tailings samples from global projects. Maintain concise and detailed records of all testing activities. Preparing testing reports for review and approval. Operate, calibrate, and conduct routine maintenance of test systems. Work with Engineers/Project Team to complete day-to-day duties/operations Understand and follow WSP health, safety, and environment policies and procedures Display a safety-first attitude and always be conscious of health and safety Identify and report hazards, near misses, and incidents in the HSE Learnings Database What You'll Bring Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent (external training can be provided) Current Australian driver's license Experience working in a testing laboratory would be an advantage Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience in laboratory and field testing of soil and tailings materials to recognised global standards (AS/ASTM/ISO) Operate, calibrate, and conduct routine maintenance of test systems. Good problem-solving and analytical skills High attention to detail, thorough and diligent in work tasks Self-starter Ability to work in a safe manner and actively foster an interdependent health and safety culture Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and basic mathematical skills Client service skills Why WSP?
