The key duties of the position include We are seeking highly experienced and strategic Cyber Security Analysts to join our Cyber Security teams and play a critical role in protecting the ATO from evolving and sophisticated cyber threats. These roles combine leadership, analytical and technical responsibilities, with a focus on overseeing and guiding monitoring, detecting, analysing and response activities for cyber security risks and incidents. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will provide specialist leadership in protecting of the ATO's people, information, assets and services. You'll apply advanced cyber security controls, lead complex threat and vulnerability analysis, and oversee the effective operation of security systems and processes under broad direction. You will collaborate with cyber specialists, IT teams and business areas to lead complex investigations into security events, assess risks, provide expert advice, and ensure system authorisation and risk activities align with government and industry frameworks. You'll play a key role in incident response, vulnerability management, and the continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities. You'll help embed security practices across systems and services by identifying weaknesses, recommending practical mitigations, and overseeing remediation activities. In this role, you will refine and review technical procedures and playbooks, lead audit, assurance and compliance activities, and evaluate emerging technologies and techniques to strengthen the ATO's cyber security posture. You'll contribute to the planning and maturity of the ATO's cyber security capability by shaping strategies, frameworks and roadmaps, and by identifying opportunities to improve controls, processes and tooling in line with government and industry requirements. You'll also build and mature cyber capability by mentoring and developing staff, reviewing work outputs and working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable and client-focused outcomes.
