We’re looking for an enthusiastic Community Development Coordinator to drive programs, events and initiatives that create meaningful connections and support the wellbeing of local residents at the Surrey Downs Community Centre. This role will also work across the Tea Tree Gully area, delivering offerings at various other places and spaces in collaboration with the rest of the Community Development and Wellbeing team. Position Description – Community Development Coordinator – Surrey Downs Community Centre This is a full time, fixed term opportunity (until November 2028) About You You’re a creative, community-minded practitioner with a talent and drive for turning ideas into impactful initiatives. We’re after someone who: Has demonstrated experience in community development, community centre operations or related fields. Brings a growth mindset and a passion for continuous improvement. Has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver community development offerings, including programs, events, services, partnership opportunities as well as evaluation and grant applications. Thrives in a collaborative, supportive team environment and enjoys working with community members. Is motivated by creating opportunities for people to connect, participate and grow to enhance their wellbeing. Holds a Diploma in Community Services Management / Community Development, or other relevant diploma/s, or extensive equivalent industry experience. Must have a valid DHS Working With Children Check, or the willingness to obtain one. Is willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check.
