In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial accounting and reporting for share plan trust accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the timely delivery of financial reporting and year-end obligations. You will also collaborate with internal teams and offshore counterparts to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement. About the Role As a Financial Accountant – Trustee Services , you will manage the accounting and reporting activities for share plan trust portfolios, ensuring financial records are accurate, reconciled, and compliant with regulatory requirements. You will play an important role in supporting month-end processes, coordinating year-end financial reporting and tax preparation, and working closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and offshore teams. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting Prepare monthly trial balances in accordance with agreed service level standards Ensure the timely delivery of financial reporting requirements Review monthly trial balances prepared by the offshore Mumbai team Prepare year-end financial statements for share plan clients Review and sign off on income tax returns prepared by external tax agents Perform bank reconciliations for trust accounts Reconciliation & Financial Control Reconcile shares held within internal systems Reconcile dividends received and distributed against holdings at record date Reconcile creditor, receivable, and tax asset/liability balances Maintain strong financial controls and ensure adherence to accounting processes and procedures Stakeholder & Team Collaboration Work closely with trustee office staff and internal stakeholders to resolve queries Respond to client and internal stakeholder enquiries Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple regions Provide guidance, training, and feedback to offshore teams Governance, Risk & Continuous Improvement Respond to auditor queries and provide supporting documentation Support risk management practices to minimise operational risk exposure Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency Contribute to projects and improvement initiatives across Trustee Services About You We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented accountant who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced financial services environment. You will bring: CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying) Minimum 2 years accounting experience, ideally within financial services Strong reconciliation and financial reporting experience Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical capability Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to work effectively with cross-regional teams and offshore partners Proactive mindset with a willingness to identify improvements and solve problems Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, with the ability to quickly learn new systems Experience within trust accounting, financial services, funds management, custody, registry or share plans will be highly regarded.
