The Company A fast-paced organisation in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team on a fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, high-volume environment and is looking to build experience across core accounting functions. About the Role The Assistant Accountant will support key financial processes across daily, monthly, and annual cycles. You will contribute to accurate reporting, efficient transactional management, and strong compliance practices. Key Responsibilities Assist with monthly reporting and preparation of annual financial statements. Support journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations. Provide documentation for internal and external audits. Assist with submissions to regulatory authorities (e.g., tax and statistical reporting). Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions. Support vendor onboarding and ensure compliance with procurement policies. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments. Support account reconciliations and assist with billing issue resolution. Conduct basic credit checks and maintain customer master data. Assist with additional finance tasks and projects as required. About You The ideal candidate will bring: Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred or required depending on organisation). A solid understanding of accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. Experience liaising with auditors (advantageous but not essential).
